SERVICES
Experimental Guidance
I provide guidance across the complete protein crystallography pipeline, from construct design and protein purification through crystallization, diffraction data collection, processing and analysis. Serving as an advisor or fractional team member, I support projects ranging from basic science to structure-based drug design. This approach offers a cost-effective alternative to recruiting and hiring a full-time senior scientist to manage employment gaps or work overflow.Advancing complex structural biology pipelines often requires both internal expertise and specialized external capabilities. I also serve as a central resource for my clients, leveraging an extensive network across academia and industry to connect organizations with trusted partners and service providers. I ensure that services are optimally aligned with research goals, allowing clients to expand capabilities and move projects forward with confidence.
Independent Structural Assessment
I provide independent structural assessments and due diligence support to biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations, supporting internal decision-making where structural biology data informs experimental direction, publication, partnership, investment or broader business strategy. I also evaluate protein structures in preparation for Protein Data Bank deposition, journal submission or external review, including assessment of model quality, validation metrics, data processing decisions and structural interpretation.
Scientific Writing and Communication
I support manuscript development, figure preparation and peer review response. My experience as an author, reviewer and editor informs an approach grounded in clarity, logical organization and adherence to journal standards, ensuring that manuscripts are well positioned for successful peer review.
I am a structural biologist with more than 20 years of experience in protein crystallography, molecular biology, biochemistry and enzymology. My work includes research conducted at academic institutions including Princeton University, Cornell University, the University of Alberta and the University of Manitoba, as well as within government laboratory settings. I have also provided scientific and technical support to leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.I coordinate complex experimental workflows and transform structural data into clear scientific communications and deliverables that support research and development programs across academia and industry.I currently serve as an elected member of the Canadian Light Source Users' Executive Committee and as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences.I am an author on 28 peer-reviewed publications, including first-author articles in Nature Communications, Chemistry & Biology, the Journal of Molecular Biology and the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and have contributed to 45 protein structures in the Protein Data Bank.
